Tervita leaders John Cooper and Linda Dietshe joined several emerging young leaders at the Calgary Chapter of the Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) Future Leaders Dinner on October 4, 2019,
Tervita was the presenting sponsor of the event for the second consecutive year, which gave attendees the opportunity to network with peers and leaders in the energy sector while enjoying an elegant dinner, entertainment and guest speakers at Calgary’s landmark building, The Bow.
“The Calgary chapter of YPE put together an amazing event,” commented Tervita Project Engineer, Omar El-Naggar. “An eye-opening moment for me was when the three keynote speakers detailed their own account on what it took to be a leader— drawing lessons from their own life experiences.”
A non-profit organization with more than 40,000 members worldwide, YPE was founded on the belief that young professionals in the global energy industry can advance in their careers through social, educational and civic service opportunities. All proceeds raised at the Future Leaders Dinner are donated to United Way Calgary and Area as part of the YPE’s focus on community involvement. By the end of the evening, the event had raised $8000 for the organization.
