COVID-19


The outbreak and rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus, combined with recent instability in global oil markets have placed us all in uncharted territory. We understand that all our stakeholders are being impacted by the current situation and want you to know we are working to ensure you experience minimal disruption to operations and services. Please read how we are responding to the current situation. 

At Tervita, the wellbeing of our people, our families, our customers and the communities where we live and work remain our top priority. This includes continuing to provide the level of service customers need and expect from us. Please see the March 17 communication to our customers for further information.

Our aim is to ensure all our stakeholders are informed of recent developments and understand that Tervita is committed to operating safely and prudently during these uncertain times. This responsibility extends throughout Tervita.  We have a team in place to manage our response plans and communications.

At this time, all Tervita facilities will remain open and operating with responsible precautions and safety protocols. These include actively encouraging employees to work from home wherever possible, canceling plans for international travel and all non-crucial travel within Canada, strengthening hygiene and cleanliness protocols at our facilities, and ensuring our employees and contractors are kept up-to-date with recent developments.

Should there be any change to this strategy (including changes to operating hours), we will communicate them immediately.

We continue to monitor developments as they impact our operating and service communities, and will closely follow the recommendations of provincial, federal and world health organizations to help keep our people, their families, communities and customers healthy and safe. As this challenging situation continues to evolve, it reinforces the need for us to act together to minimize the impact to all of us.

Our thoughts are with those who have been seriously impacted by COVID-19 and we are deeply grateful to the public health organizations, the frontline health care workers, and all of those working to maintain public safety and develop community contingency plans and ultimately, a vaccine.
