Employee Giving

Tervita has a 30-year workplace giving partnership with the United Way of Calgary. The company matches all of our employees’ United Way donations, and together, we have invested more than $1 million towards building a better and stronger community.

Our employees organize and run the annual United Way campaign, working side-by-side to plan fundraising activities and volunteer in their community. The company encourages their efforts, knowing that these actions build personal connections within the company and inspire all of us to help further.

In November 2019, Tervita employees made donations and took part in various fundraising activities to raise money for the United Way.  

As a result of a dedicated effort, our 2019 campaign raised more than $70,000 and Tervita has responded to the generosity in kind by matching these funds to provide United Way with a total donation of over $140,000! This contribution will stay in the communities in which they are raised and will support the common goal of helping people overcome poverty, setting kids up for success, and building strong communities.  

The campaign was led by a committee of dedicated volunteers who worked hard to organize the various activities.
