Caverns

For more than 20 years, we have served Western Canadian oil and gas producers by delivering waste handling and disposal options that meet the tough challenges in today’s dynamic drilling and production environments.

We are an industry-leading innovator in developing off-site drilling waste disposal techniques.  We assist you in designing effective transport and containment systems that custom fit specific drilling conditions and programs.

Our underground salt caverns provide an environmentally sound disposal option for oilfield liquid and solid wastes. Waste products are pumped into the caverns, typically in slurry form and displacing the brine, which is subsequently removed and re-injected into disposal wells. We operate salt cavern disposal facilities in Lindbergh and Hughenden, Alberta and Unity, Saskatchewan. Our cavern operations are licensed to accept a wide range of upstream oil and gas waste, including:

  • Produced sand
  • Slop oil
  • Tank bottoms
  • Sludges
  • Naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM)
