Saskatchewan Accelerated Site Closure Program

The oil and gas industry has faced several challenges over the past few years and more so since February 2020. Declining oil prices, production and development have impacted many families in the Province.

At Tervita we want to help get Saskatchewan people back to work.

In Saskatchewan, our employees live and work in over 15 communities. Tervita has an office in Swift Current, eight treatment and disposal facilities, six industrial landfills, one bioremediation facility, one water disposal site and one salt disposal cavern. Together with our people, customers and partners, we can help our industry and benefit our communities.

Together we are better.

Accelerated Site Closure Program Overview (ASCP)

The Saskatchewan Accelerated Site Closure Program (ASCP) was launched on June 1, 2020. This program through funding from the Federal Government will focus on getting Saskatchewan people back to work.

For more information and updates on the program visit the Saskatchewan Government’s website.

Oil and Gas Licensees

In phase one of the program, you can receive a funding allocation based on the percentage of your total liability to that of all eligible licensees.

The Saskatchewan Research Council will be administering the program and creating area based work plans for tender.

With over 20 years in managing teams, consultants and contractors for infrastructure abandonment and post production environmental consulting projects, we understand your expectations. You can trust us to manage each project with safety as the top priority and to hold our contractors to the same standard.  Tervita has developed a set of best practices to assist licensees with site nominations and can offer guidance throughout the nomination process.

Tervita directly provides a variety of services eligible for the program including;
